Call 2-1-1 to reach the United Way Helpline. The Helpline is open 24 hours/day to support Harvey survivors. United Way Helpline specialists connect callers with the help they need, from emergency shelter and other urgent needs, to help with basic needs, like food and transportation. 2-1-1 maintains up-to-date information on shelters and other essential resources. Case management support can also be requested.

Houston Bike Share – Keep Houston Rolling
Hurricane Harvey destroyed over half a million vehicles across Houston, leaving many Houstonians without reliable transportation. In many cases, the owners are still paying the note on a vehicle that was lost, and purchasing a new car isn’t immediately possible. Houston Bike Share has partnered with BikeHouston, Freewheels Houston and Rice Bikes to “Keep Houston Rolling” by collecting bike donations and distributing bikes to community members in need. Care for Elders Harvey Helpline for Adults 60+
Calls are answered by social workers and trained volunteers who will work to connect adults 60+ with free quality resources.
East Harris County Empowerment Council
Through a partnership with Delivering Good, EHCEC has secured a large donation of new apparel, shoes, undergarments, coats, home goods and much more, for men, women, children and babies. EHCEC is also working on additional programs and services to support East Harris County families in the upcoming months. Complete their needs inventory form here.
Adore Ministries is providing Harvey relief support for SW Houston residents. Services include case assessment, distribution of toiletries, food, diapers, wipes, limited basic household items, clothing; financial assistance on a case-by-case basis, Saturday home cleanout crews, and mold remediation products.

Bread of Life, Inc
Bread of Life Inc. , an outreach arm of St. John’s church offering services to Houston’s homeless for 25 years, has expanded their work to help with Harvey relief needs. Bread of Life is providing support for temporary housing, food, employment assistance (T/TH 9am-12pm), and ‘adopt a family’ placements.
