It’s been months since Harvey but there is still so much work to be done. Almost every organization we connect with has communicated volunteer shortages. Please keep coming out! Encourage others to show up. Harvey recovery work is far from over.

We’re doing rebuild work in NE Houston, an area heavily impacted by flooding. If you have any skills hanging drywall, taping and floating, installing floors and doors or doing other finish work, or want to learn with us, please reach out!
Some days we also need folks to distribute supplies or do other tasks that don’t require skilled or physical labor. If you’re looking for a day to meet up with us, check our Facebook page for upcoming events, or email us at email@example.com, or call (832) 356-6073.
Recovery Houston is a grassroots organization helping Houston and surrounding areas with demolition and clean out work. Recovery Houston sends out volunteer crews each led by a team leader with construction and demolition experience. Crews are provided a short orientation and training on their job for the day before being dispatched for hands-on work helping with demolition and repair work in flooded homes. Needed supplies and protective gear is provided. Volunteers should to wear long sleeves, long pants, closed-toe shoes.
A few words about volunteering in marginalized communities: We are not here to dictate what needs to be done. We are here to listen, ask questions, engage in relationship and work in solidarity with communities that are already established, skilled, and knowledgable.
